UET Lahore Open Day: Civil Engineering Department Shines with Innovative Showcase

The University of Engineering and Technology (UET), Lahore, held a vibrant Open Day on Thursday, 13th June 2024, from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM at the Main Auditorium Complex. This annual event was marked by the enthusiastic participation of prospective students and parents eager to explore the university’s academic and extracurricular offerings.

The Civil Engineering Department (CED) made a remarkable impression with its well-organized stall, which became one of the highlights of the day. The stall was set up by the faculty and dedicated members of the ICE Student Chapter and civil engineering staff, ensuring smooth operations throughout the day.

The CED stall featured a variety of models demonstrating key areas of civil engineering, including structural engineering, geotechnical engineering, and water resource engineering. Each model was labeled, providing an informative display for visitors. This approach allowed attendees to gain insights into the practical applications of civil engineering concepts.

In addition to the physical models, the stall displayed several posters highlighting the innovative work being carried out at the Department. These projects showcased the department’s commitment to advancing knowledge and solving real-world problems.

Visitors to the Civil Engineering Department stall received comprehensive guidance on the admission process, including details about different admission categories and the previous year’s closing merit. Information related to available scholarships, career prospects in both the public and private sectors, and further studies abroad was also provided. Each visitor left with a pamphlet containing all the essential information about the Department to ensure that they were well-informed about their potential future at UET.

The Open Day was graced by several notable guests, including Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Nasir Hayat, Dean Prof. Dr. Khalid Farooq, Chairman of the Civil Engineering Department Prof. Dr. Noor Muhammad Khan, and Director of Student Affairs Dr. Asif Ali Qaiser.
