The Civil Engineering Department at UET observed its Orientation Day on 24th July 2023, with an impressive turnout of around 100 students and their parents. The ceremony commenced in the Seminar Hall with the recitation of verses from the Holy Quran, setting a reverent tone for the event.
A large number of faculty members graced the occasion, demonstrating their dedication to the incoming batch. After the opening ceremony, Dr. Qasim Shaukat Khan took the stage to deliver a comprehensive presentation, enlightening the attendees about the Civil Engineering Program, Faculty, and available facilities and support services at both the Department and University levels.
Prof. Dr. Noor Muhammad Khan extended a warm official welcome to the students, providing detailed insights into the department’s history, academic offerings, scholarships, and job opportunities. Faculty members actively engaged with students and parents during the event, fostering a supportive atmosphere.
To familiarize the students of the 2023 session with the department, they were given guided tours of various laboratories and classrooms, accompanied by members of the ICE UET Lahore Chapter. The event concluded with a light refreshment session, providing an opportunity for informal interactions and networking.
Special recognition was accorded to the management team, comprising Dr. Qasim S. Khan, Dr. Ali Ahmed, Engr. Ehtesham Mehmood, and Engr. Abdur Rehman, for their dedicated efforts in organizing the successful Orientation Day. The enthusiasm and engagement displayed by the students and parents bode well for an exciting and fruitful academic journey ahead at UET’s Civil Engineering Department.
