We are thrilled to announce the appointment of Prof. Dr. Noor M. Khan as the new Chairman of the Civil Engineering Department at the University of Engineering and Technology (UET) Lahore. Prof. Dr. Khan, renowned for his expertise in the Water Sector of Pakistan, brings a wealth of experience and knowledge to his new role.
Prof. Dr. Noor M. Khan’s academic journey began at UET Lahore, where he earned his Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering with honors in 1992. He furthered his education at the Asian Institute of Technology in Thailand, obtaining his Master’s and PhD degrees in 1996 and 2008, respectively. Currently serving as Professor and Head of the Hydraulics and Irrigation Engineering Division at UET Lahore, Prof. Dr. Noor M. Khan has dedicated over 30 years to teaching, research, and advisory services.
Notably, Prof. Dr. Noor M. Khan led the Centre of Excellence in Water Resources Engineering as Director from January 2019 to June 2023, elevating it into a prominent hub for learning and research. His contributions extend beyond academia, as he represents UET Lahore in the Pakistan Engineering Council’s Think Tank on Water Resources Development.
With a distinguished career spanning academia and industry, Prof. Dr. Noor M. Khan has made an indelible mark on the field. His publications, which exceed 60 in number, delve into critical topics such as water system optimization, reservoir sedimentation, flood modeling, and the impact of climate change on regional hydrology. Many of his students now hold senior positions in prestigious organizations both in Pakistan and abroad, a testament to his mentorship and guidance.
