Seminar on Career Development and Entrepreneurship in Civil Engineering

The Department of Civil Engineering Department (CED) organized a seminar titled “Career Development and Entrepreneurship in Civil Engineering” on February 18, 2026, at the Syed Nazir Seminar Hall.

The guest speaker, Engr. Maqsood Malik (Session 1982), Founder, President, and CEO of M&J Engineering, USA, and a proud alumnus of CED, shared insights drawn from his 40 years of professional experience in civil and transportation engineering. Over his distinguished career, he has led major infrastructure projects across the New York Metropolitan region, including highways, bridges, and Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) programs.

In his address to students, Engr. Malik highlighted key principles for success:

  • Trust in yourself and overcome fear
  • Continuously explore your potential and strive for growth
  • Set high and ambitious goals
  • Trust Allah in your efforts
  • Develop strong professional networks
  • Remain thankful to your parents and mentors

He also met with faculty members and emphasized the importance of quality education and personality development, particularly communication skills, professional ethics, confidence, and leadership.
