Final-year B.Sc. students from the Department of Civil Engineering visited the Irrigation Research Institute (IRI), Nandipur, on Thursday, 4th December 2025, as part of an academic study tour aimed at enhancing their practical understanding of hydraulic and irrigation systems.
During the visit, experts from the Punjab Irrigation Department delivered technical briefings on physical hydraulic modeling, flow measurement techniques, barrage performance, and river training works. Students also toured the research laboratories and model halls, where they interacted with scientists and discussed real-world challenges in Pakistan’s irrigation infrastructure.
Faculty members emphasized the value of connecting theoretical knowledge with field-based research. The visit concluded with a vote of thanks, acknowledging IRI’s continued support and its contribution to national water resource development.
