Seminar on Introduction To Reality Of Natural Disasters; Earthquakes and Heavy Rains

Civil Engineering Department arranged a seminar titled “Introduction To Reality Of Natural Disasters; Earthquakes and Heavy Rains” on Tuesday, 6th December 2022. The guest speaker for the event was Prof. Dr. Ikuo Towhata. He did his Bachelor, Master, and Ph.D. in Civil Engineering from the University of Tokyo, Japan. He has served at various universities and institutes including the University of British Columbia, Vancouver; the Asian Institute of Technology, Bangkok; the Public Works Research Institute, Japan and the University of Tokyo. Currently, he is a Professor Emeritus at the University of Tokyo, Japan. He has a large number of honors/awards to his credit awarded by different institutes and societies all over the globe.
Prof. Dr. Khalid Farooq and Prof. Dr. Habib ur Rehman welcomed the guest and presented him with a bouquet. The guest delivered a detailed presentation on the impact of natural disasters and the necessary preventive measures to minimize the loss of property and human life. The presentation was followed by a question-answer session.
Faculty members and a large number of students attended the seminar. In the end, Prof. Dr. Khalid Farooq presented a shield to the guest.
