INAUGURATION CEREMONY (II) OF RENOVATION WORKS CARRIED OUT AT CIVIL ENGINEERING DEPARTMENT

The vibrant spirit of progress and generosity resonated through the class rooms and corridors of the Civil Engineering Department at the University of Engineering and Technology, Lahore, as a momentous inauguration ceremony marked the unveiling of newly renovated and upgraded spaces.

The ceremony celebrated the transformation of four Class Rooms (C1, C2, C7, and C11) along with two meticulously refurbished lobbies and ground floor corridors linking key areas within the department. This magnificent rejuvenation was made possible through the unwavering support and generosity of esteemed alumni, each contributing to specific areas:

Engr. Abid Wazir Khan extended his sponsorship to facilitate the renovation of Class Rooms C1 and C2, as well as the two accompanying lobbies. Dr. Qasim Shaukat Khan, an Associate Professor in the Civil Engineering Department and a member of the 2004 session and his brothers lent their support to the renovation of Class Room C7. Engr. Muhammad Yousaf Rao, an Ex-GM at WAPDA and an alumnus of the 81 Civil Engineering Session, played a pivotal role in the transformation of Class Room C11. Engr. Ameer Faisal, MD of City Survey and Engineering Consultants, and an alumnus of the 95 Civil Engineering Session, generously contributed to the refurbishment of the ground floor corridors.

The ceremony was graced by the presence of Prof. Dr. Habib ur Rehman, Vice Chancellor of UET Lahore, who inaugurated these transformed spaces, lauding the efforts and generosity of the alumni whose contributions made this revitalization possible.

Prof. Dr. Khalid Farooq, Chairman, Civil Engineering Department, highlighted the significance of these renovations to the Chief Guest, Deans, Chairpersons, and faculty members, expressing profound gratitude to the alumni whose support has been instrumental in elevating the department’s infrastructure.

In the past year, an inspiring wave of alumni contributions has fueled the renovation of various spaces, including Class Rooms C1, C2, C4, C6, C7, and C11, Seminar Hall (C3), two lobbies, corridors, and the Chairman’s Office. Dr. Farooq further announced plans for the upcoming renovation of Class Rooms C8, C9, and C10, emphasizing the collective commitment to complete these enhancements, thanks to the support pledged by the esteemed alumni of The Department of Civil Engineering.

The collective applause and appreciation from the Chief Guest, Deans, Chairpersons, and faculty members echoed the profound dedication and spirit of unity that propels the Civil Engineering Department forward. Their commitment to excellence and collective support serves as a beacon, illuminating a path of continual progress and innovation at UET Lahore’s esteemed Civil Engineering Department.
