On September 23, 2024, the final year students of the Department of Civil Engineering at the University of Engineering and Technology (UET) Lahore were privileged to receive life-saving training from the skilled team of Rescue 1122. The session, titled Pak Life Saver Training, was organized in collaboration with the Rescue 1122 team from the Shalimar Tehsil, Lahore. A total of 232 students actively participated in this essential training.
Key Areas Covered:
- CPR (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation)
Students were taught the crucial steps to perform CPR, a life-saving technique used in emergencies when someone’s breathing or heartbeat has stopped. The hands-on demonstration helped students practice the proper technique for restoring normal heart function. - Bleeding Control
The Rescue 1122 team guided participants on how to effectively control bleeding, an essential first-aid skill in case of injuries. Techniques such as applying pressure, using bandages, and proper handling of wounds were demonstrated to ensure safety in emergency situations.
Rescue 1122 Team:
The training was led by Master Trainer Ramzan Butt (RTO), who was supported by a team of dedicated community coordinators and helping hands. The community coordinators included Naveed, Zeeshan, Tahira, Nadeem, and Ghulam Murtaza. They played an essential role in guiding the students through the various stages of the training.
Additionally, the helping hands team comprised Zulfiqar, Kashif, Abid, Anas, and another Abid. Their assistance ensured that the training ran smoothly and that all participants had the opportunity to practice the techniques demonstrated.
This comprehensive session provided the participants with not only technical know-how but also practical experience in managing emergencies. The skills they gained will not only benefit them in their professional careers as civil engineers but also equip them to be responsible citizens who can make a real difference in saving lives.
