The Department of Civil Engineering, University of Engineering and Technology (UET) Lahore, hosted a delegation of bridge maintenance experts from the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) and the Road Asset Management System (RAMS) of the Communication and Works (C&W) Department, Government of Punjab, on Thursday, 30th October 2025.
The visit aimed to explore collaboration and research opportunities related to the establishment of a Bridge Training Facility being developed by the C&W Department Punjab in collaboration with JICA. During the meeting with the faculty, the delegation discussed prospects for joint research, technical cooperation, and capacity-building initiatives in the area of bridge management and maintenance.
Prof. Dr. Khalid Farooq, Dean, Faculty of Civil Engineering, and Prof. Dr. Noor Muhammad Khan, Chairman, Department of Civil Engineering, presented souvenirs to the guests and assured them of the department’s full support and collaboration in this important initiative.
This engagement reflects the department’s ongoing commitment to promoting industry-academia linkages and contributing to the development of advanced infrastructure management practices in Pakistan.
